Collection: Tinctures

Tinctures are an excellent way of getting a concentrated herbal medicine with the convenience of a small dose and an extended shelf life.  They date back as far as distilled alcohol.  Historically, herbal preparations normally came in the form of teas, which provide excellent herbal medicine but have a short shelf life and sometimes a most disagreeable flavor. Most tinctures can be added to beverages where the flavor is completely hidden, they have a 5-10 year shelf life, and they are assimilated by the body very quickly giving must faster relief.  Tinctures have been a huge part of herbal medicine and only fell out of favor when the pharmaceutical industry really started emphasizing pills.  Today however, tinctures are making a strong and much needed comeback!
